Griffin & Scout: A Team for Griffin
A gentle children's picture book about foster care, courage, and belonging.
Follow five-year-old Griffin and his teddy bear, Scout, as they face a new home, unfamiliar routines, and big feelings—and discover that they do not have to face change alone.
About the Book
Griffin & Scout: A Team for Griffin follows a five-year-old boy entering foster care with his beloved teddy bear by his side.
Everything around Griffin feels unfamiliar: a new home, new routines, and new people who want to help. Through warm meals, bedtime conversations, caring adults, and small acts of steady love, Griffin begins to understand that he has a team around him.
Created for small children, the story offers families and caregivers a gentle way to talk about foster care, uncertainty, safety, and belonging.
Why I Wrote Griffin & Scout
As a foster and adoptive dad, I have seen how frightening change can feel to a child—especially when they do not understand where they are going or who the new people around them are.
I wrote Griffin & Scout to give children and the adults who care for them a gentle way to talk about foster care, safety, big feelings, and the people who show up to help.
More than anything, I want every child who reads this story to know:
You are loved. You are valued. You are never alone.
